Diehl Aviation proudly announces that its groundbreaking Space³ concept has been awarded the prestigious Crystal Cabin Award in the Accessibility category. This recognition highlights Space³ as a transformative innovation that enhances inclusivity in aircraft cabins, especially for passengers with reduced mobility or special needs. This innovative cabin solution sets a new industry approach for inclusive air travel, ensuring access to onboard lavatories without compromising aircraft space or efficiency.

Space³ introduces a fully wheelchair-accessible lavatory that merges two individual units into one, maximizing space efficiency without compromising passenger comfort. The design features a patent-pending door mechanism, touchless functionalities, and voice controlled and guide-by-light assistance for visually impaired travelers. Additionally, Space3 enables an optimized cabin layout to accommodate four extra seats, enhancing both accessibility and operational efficiency. The design also results in weight savings, contributing to lower fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.

With Space³, Diehl Aviation expands its pioneering approach from single-aisle aircraft to long-haul fleets, with the first installations set to take flight in 2026. The innovative foldable sidewall ensures quick and easy handling for cabin crews while allowing full privacy for passengers needing assistance. Moreover, Space³ already complies with the latest U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) accessibility regulations, making it a future-proof solution for the aviation industry.

Jörg Schuler, CEO of Diehl Aviation, stated: "Winning this award is a testament to our aim of making air travel accessible for everyone. Space³ redefines what accessibility means in aviation while also enhancing operational efficiency and increasing passenger experience. We are proud to be at the forefront of this transformation.”

With this award-winning concept, Diehl Aviation continues to set new standards in aircraft interiors.
